WTA And Stats Perform Sign Global Six-Year Data Deal

T
he Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has announced a global, six-year partnership with Stats Perform to focus on promotion and growth of women’s tennis through data and performance insights.

As part of the deal, Stats Perform will become the official WTA data supplier, delivering an exclusive data feed of match statistics to increase the level of live insights available for thousands of WTA matches.

The partnership hopes to power a new range of broadcast, second screen, and betting experiences with the data feed, in order to bring fans closer to the sport with data-driven insights and stories.

Stats Perform CEO, Carl Mergele, said the partnership will aim to raise the profile of WTA players by making official WTA data more accessible for authorised sportsbooks, broadcasters, OTT, media, sponsors, tech, and fantasy games, giving fans and bettors fast and accurate data.

“The WTA has very ambitious goals for their tournaments and players and we’re proud to be trusted to help them reach new levels of fan and bettor engagement,” Mergele said.

“Our broadcaster, media and betting networks are already excited because they’ve seen how high-quality information elevates sport’s appeal,” he said.

WTA president, Micky Lawler, said: “Stats Perform has a history of creating innovative and trusted content and products that drive entertainment levels and new revenue streams for the professional sports ecosystem.”

“We’re looking forward to discovering new and unique storylines surrounding the WTA Tour and our players and tournaments available in new, exciting and comprehensive ways,” Lawler said.

Stats Perform’s Opta brand has already helped transform the way fans and bettors interact with men’s and women’s soccer, cricket, rugby, basketball, NFL, and MLB, with a long history of sports data partnerships.
