Titans on song with new deal

The Gold Coast Titans are already on song for the 2019 season renewing their fan engagement deal with Australia’s leading music-tech company, Nightlife Music.

Last season Nightlife’s fan-sourced music app crowdDJ and interactive touch-screen kiosks provided a unique Titans’ playlist for every home game, with the most popular song for the 2018 season, Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley.

Titans Operations and Event Manager Dannette Taylor said a fan feedback survey showed the club hit the right note with the interactivity of crowdDJ.

“Gold Coast spectators love their team and the on-field action, but they also value the entertainment around the game,” Ms Taylor said.

“Fans were able to choose their favourite tracks via their phone app or the stations around the stadium and the songs with the most votes were played,” she said.

“A whole-of-family fan experience is a priority for the club and that was evident with the diversity of song selections from Nirvana coming in second through to Will Smith’s, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air as the 9th most voted song,“ Ms Taylor said.

“It really gave a unique personality to the Titans fan base.”

As well as driving an enhanced game-day experience Nightlife also provided the musical backdrop for player training sessions and the club’s community events.

Nightlife Events Manager Amber Leigh Webb-Lord said the music-tech company will be looking for new ways to amplify its involvement with the Titans for the upcoming 2019 season.

“The Titans’ operations team really embraced our technology to deliver a premium fan-focused experience through music,” she said.

“It’s no secret these days sporting organisations have to deliver great entertainment outside of the game to get spectators of all ages away from screens and out of the home.

“And music is the ultimate entertainer.”
