2019 Tech In Sport Event

To celebrate the global HYPE SPIN Accelerator program, Ministry of Sport has partnered with the University of Queensland (UQ) to deliver the 2019 Tech In Sport event at Victoria Park in Brisbane on July 10th. 

The HYPE UQ SPIN Accelerator is a global program that was developed to champion entrepreneurship and sports tech innovation, whilst providing access to mentors and investors from around the world to fast-track promising local startups onto the world stage. 

This event will stage both major international and domestic players as well as hosting the final 10 start up teams who will be pitching their products in front of a jury that will include high-level representatives, influencers and investors from the sports and tech worlds.

There will also be valuable networking opportunities with leading sports and tech figures, mentors, investors, innovators and media outlets representatives. 

The 2019 HYPE UQ SPIN Accelerator Cohort Includes


  • BiiB – Community-based run motivator platform (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

  • HeartBit – The world’s first smart garment capable of real-time medical grade ECG waveform monitoring, prediction and detection of heart anomalies (QLD, Australia)
