Rugby Australia Team Up With Cadbury

hocolate company Cadbury are the new principal partner of the Wallabies and a major partner of the Wallaroos after making a five-year deal with Rugby Australia.

The Cadbury logo will be displayed on the Wallabies jersey and their training shorts, while also appearing on the back of the Wallaroos shorts for their upcoming test series against Samoa.

In a statement, Rugby Australia CEO, Andy Marinos, said he is excited at the opportunities the partnership will present.

“From the alignment on values to their commitment to the development of women’s sport, as well as increasing the opportunities and profile of the game, this partnership will only further encourage the growth of our game across all levels,” Marinos said.

“I look forward to seeing our partnership grow over the coming years and witnessing its positive impact on our community,” he said.

Cadbury will replace Qantas as principal partner, after the airline ended the 30-year partnership in 2020.

The announcement of the new partnership came soon after the dates for the Rugby Women’s World Cup were set for New Zealand in 2022.

Mondelez International president Australia, New Zealand and Japan Darren O’Brien said in a statement, is was an “honour to be linking up with Rugby Australia.”

“We have great belief in the vision of Rugby Australia and support their plan for the game in this country, from the grassroots through to the international arena.” O’Brien said.

“Many Australians have a deep and long connection with Cadbury, which has been proudly made and enjoyed in Australia for 100 years,” he said.

“We look forward to building on this with Rugby Australia, by jointly creating many positive shared moments for Australians to be proud of, through local communities and at the elite level with the Wallabies and Wallaroos.

“We are particularly thrilled to build on our existing support for women in sport by supporting the Wallaroos in their ambitions to bring home the Women’s World Cup next year,” O’Brien said.

Recently, Cadbury have shown their support for women in sport through their National Women in Sport Initiative which launched at the end of last year and includes partnerships with the AFLW, the Australian Women’s Cricket team and the Matildas.
