Freedom Road Travel and OPRO, the world’s largest manufacturer of the most technically advanced mouthguard, have partnered with Queensland Rugby Union (QRU), the governing body for the sport of Rugby within the state of Queensland, Australia.
Freedom Road Travel will provide members with exclusive offers and discounts on a range of travel services including packaged family holidays, hotels, cruises, coach tours and flights.
This partnership will be delivered through a dedicated Queensland Rugby online travel portal which will be launched in 2019.
QRU Head of Commercial, Malcolm Watts, said: “This partnership has the ability to provide value to our members and a much-needed revenue stream to the clubs we represent.
“Our clubs rely heavily on volunteers to make them viable, we believe the travel portal will provide the Queensland clubs with a revenue injection simply through the natural travelling habits of its members.”
The platform will be made available to members of the 240 Queensland clubs, with a contribution of every booking made going directly back to that club.
As part of OPRO’s long-term partnership with QRU, they will supply both the men’s Super Rugby, women’s Super W and Elite Sevens programmes with superior mouthguard protection.
OPRO serves as the official mouthguard partner of a number of Rugby organisations, teams and charities including England Rugby, New Zealand Rugby, USA Rugby, Samoa Rugby Union, Rugby Australia, 11 Gallagher Rugby Union teams and Wooden Spoon, firmly positioning OPRO as the mouthguard of choice for the sport of Rugby across the globe.
OPRO Chief Executive Officer, David Allen, commented: “We are delighted to be able to announce this partnership and to be able to provide players with the very best protection for their teeth.
“OPRO is partnered with organisations and teams from across a variety of sports including UFC, hockey, football, wrestling, basketball and more.
“Rugby is close to our hearts because it is where the OPRO journey began.
“To be able to partner with the Queensland Rugby Union and the Queensland Reds is an honour.
“It further solidifies our position as the mouthguard of choice for Rugby in Australia,” he said.
