Olympics To Have Centralised Hospitality Model From 2024
he International Olympic Committee (IOC) has named On Location as the official hospitality provider for the Paris 2024, Milano Cortina 2026 and Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The centralised model offers fans and Olympic stakeholders exclusive travel and hospitality experiences through the Endeavor owned company, which states its hospitality offerings “provide and immersive window into the unique flavour and energy of these world-renowned events.”
SportsPro Media report On Location will work with organising committees to provide an assortment of packages which include travel, tickets, accommodation and unique in-venue and host city hospitality.
The agreement also includes support for the family and friends of athletes through dedicated ticket inventory as well as travel, and access to accommodation.
IOC president, Thomas Bach, said the new model will simplify the delivery of the games.
“This new solution will deliver a simplified, secure process for fans around the world to attend the games,” Bach said.
“The centralisation of the project also contributes greatly to better oversight and, with this, to good governance.
“It will also directly support the staging of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, all the National Olympic Committees and most importantly their athletes,” he said.
The new model is part of the Olympic Agenda 2020+5 initiative, and will be debuted at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Paris 2024 president, Tony Estanguet said the model offers a fantastic opportunity for the organising committee and “the entire Paris 2024 ecosystem.”
“Our teams are already at work and we look forward to innovating together, to offer unique hospitality experiences that will appeal to a broad global audience,” Estanguet said.
“In developing these new products, we will seek to showcase the best of French art de vivre, our gastronomy, art, culture, sport and innovation against the magnificent backdrop of the City of Lights, while fully respecting the focus on legacy at the heart of our vision,” he said.
According to Sport Business, the IOC have added an integrated approach to global ticket sales which will provide “secure, seamless access to Olympic and Paralympic tickets directly via each organising committee at standardised prices for each event.”
The model is separate to the agreement with On Location, but will also be introduced for Paris 2024.
