NRL Club Commercial Partnerships Wrap: Storm, Panthers, More

ith the 2021 NRL Premiership season now several rounds in, here’s the latest NRL club commercial partnerships from the past seven days.

The Melbourne Storm announced two new partners over the past week, Carsales, and the Amazing Baby Company, with Carsales becoming a premium partner and taking up the sleeve sponsorship position on the Storm’s jerseys.

As part of the deal, Carsales will also receive branding across the Storm’s training gear, ground signage, and activations during home games.

Storm CEO, Justin Rodski, said: “We are delighted to partner with such a strong, respected and successful brand.”

“This partnership is a great fit for both Storm and Carsales and we look forward to connecting our members and fans with the diverse range of services and products they provide.

“The Carsales logo will feature on the sleeves of our playing jersey from tomorrow night.

“It’s a unique position to occupy, generating more QI media value than any on-kit position across all AFL and NRL teams in 2020.

“We hope this is the beginning of a long and valued partnership together,” Rodski said.

The club’s partnership with the Amazing Baby Company, however, was announced amid Storm’s Good Friday Appeal, with the company announcing a $10,000 contribution to the appeal and Royal Children’s Hospital.

As part of the deal, the Amazing Baby Company will offer Storm members 15% off all products with free shipping.

The Amazing Baby Company managing director, Carrie Edwards-Britt, said: “I went to my first Storm game back in 1998 and fell in love with the game and the team.”

“My mum and I have been members for many years and go to almost every home game together.

“Over the last 23 years, Storm has brought me so much happiness and I have always been proud of the club for the way they interact with fans, and how inclusive they make members feel.

“I have only ever heard great things about the culture at Storm and that the club is like a family.

“We have the same belief at The Amazing Baby Company, having a great culture is important to us and something that we continually work at,” Edwards-Britt said.

Elsewhere in the NRL, the Penrith Panthers have announced Bluestone Home Loans as the club’s official home loan partner in a three-year deal.

The Bluestone logo will feature on the Panthers jerseys in both 2022 and 2023 as part of the deal.

Panthers head of partnerships, Jeremy Tuite, said: “We’re very excited to welcome Bluestone Home Loans to the club’s corporate network.”

“From our initial discussions it was immediately clear that Panthers and Bluestone are aligned on our strong community values.

“This partnership will see a number of initiatives to help Panthers members and fans understand more about home loans and to help them realise the dream of owning their own home,” Tuite said.

Across the rest of the league, the Brisbane Broncos, in partnership with charity partner, Down Syndrome Queensland (DSQ), visited DSQ’s Stafford classroom to meet students and practice some skills with the students.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs also delivered an Employment and Wellbeing Expo at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in an effort to provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and community members from the Liverpool LGA with employment, training, and tertiary education information and pathways.

The event brought in over 200 guests with Souths Cares showcasing a new mental health video featuring interviews from several Rabbitohs players and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers from key industries.
