MLB.TV Sets Record For Most Minutes Watched
he MLB has revealed its streaming platform, MLB.TV, has recorded over 10.5 billion minutes of watched content during the 2021 regular season.
The figure now stands as a record since the platform launched in 2002, with the previous record being the 2019 season which recorded 7.38 billion minutes of watched content.
The 2021 season also saw the platform beat its record for regular season games watched by 37%, recording 141.98 million games watched, with the most viewed game drawing an average of 5.9 million viewers on FOX, also ranking as the most-watched game in the league since 1998.
The MLB revealed the average age of viewers of the platform is 44, dropping from an average age of 48 in 2018.
MLB.TV also recorded the 10 most-watched days in its history in 2021, as well as the top five most-streamed games, and nine out of the top ten most-streamed games in its history.
