Liberty To Use Melbourne Renegades WBBL Partnership To Empower Women
Liberty branding will appear on the back of the WBBL playing jersey and the company will also feature prominently in the build-up to the club’s BBL home games in Geelong.
Liberty Chief Executive, James Boyle, said the partnership reflected the non-bank’s commitment to diversity and empowering women to pursue any venture they wish – be that finance, tech, or cricket.
“We’ve long supported the free thinkers and trailblazers who take their own path and challenge conventions.
“So, we’re excited to be supporting this young and promising team in the first season that the women’s big bash league is running all on its own.
“Just as Liberty was a pioneer in providing alternative lending solutions for Australians from all walks of life, we’re proud to support and promote the Renegades as they help forge a path for women in professional cricket.”
Fresh from a finals’ appearance last season, the Renegades are looking to continue their upward trajectory in WBBL|05.
General Manager of Commercial, David Lever, welcomed the new partnership with Liberty and said it was a strong endorsement for the club and the strength of the competition.
“We’re really pleased to welcome Liberty into the Melbourne Renegades.
“Our WBBL squad has continued to improve each season and we’re looking forward to having Liberty’s support for the next phase of our evolution,” Lever said.
“For more than two decades Liberty has championed innovation and flexibility and a culture of making things possible.
“That’s something we see strong connections with.
“WBBL|05 shapes as a landmark moment in the competition’s growth with the move to a standalone season and we take great confidence from Liberty’s support as we enter our biggest season yet.”
