Hyundai Extends Surfing Australia Alliance With Multi-Year Deal

Hyundai Motor Company Australia has agreed to a multi-year extension with Surfing Australia, following the success of their initial entry into the sport.

The extended deal will see Hyundai continue as a key supporter of surfing’s leading organisation through until 2021.

Hyundai cars will be featured at all high-profile surfing events, including the nudie Australian Boardriders Battle, the Hyundai Australian SUP Titles, the Australian Surfing Awards and nudie SurfGroms.

In addition, Hyundai will also have presenting rights to the Hydralyte Sports Surf Series presented by Hyundai, consisting of three events per year.

Surfing Australia will also produce digital content on behalf of Hyundai, which will be published across Surfing Australia’s digital and broadcast platforms – including mySURF.tv and on the Nine Network.

Renowned big wave surfer, and former Australian Champion, Laura Enever, will also team-up with Hyundai as its official surf ambassador.

HMCA Chief Executive Officer, JW Lee, said: “We are incredibly delighted to continue our partnership with Surfing Australia, an immensely popular sport and lifestyle that is an iconic part of Australian culture.

“With this collaboration we hope to help grow the sport, sharing in the joy and excitement surfing brings to our community.”

Surfing Australia CEO, Chris Mater, said: “It’s great to be able to partner up with Hyundai for the next three years, as they have a great brand & products,”

“Surfing is a lifestyle sport and Hyundai offers vehicles for every stage of the adventure.”

The Hyundai SUV range will be called into action to support these high-profile surfing events, while the Surfing Australia High-Performance Centre in Casuarina will also receive a fleet of Hyundai vehicles to assist in their year-round duties.
