Cazoo Sign Sponsorship Deal With Epsom Derby

O
nline car retailer Cazoo has been announced as the new main sponsor for the Derby Festival at Epsom Downs Racecourse.

The multi-year deal includes naming rights and the exclusive naming of eight races held through the festival.

Cazoo also agreed to a deal with The Jockey Club that will see them have exposure and branding rights for all of 2021 at all of The Jockey Club’s 15 racecourses across the UK.

Cazoo founder and chief executive, Alex Chesterman OBE, said it is great to be involved with such a major event.

“We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Cazoo Derby Festival, one of the biggest events in horseracing,” Chesterman said.

“As the second biggest spectator sport in Britain, we look forward to engaging with racing fans around the country through this extensive partnership with The Jockey Club and to delivering the best car-buying experience to horseracing fans across the country,” he said.

The Jockey Club chief executive, Nevin Truesdale, said he believes their new partner shares their passion for racing.

“Cazoo is a highly ambitious and successful growth brand that matches our ambitions for the future of the world’s most famous lap race,” Truesdale said.

“You cannot overstate the importance of the Derby to our sport globally, and it’s vital we work with a partner passionate about bringing that to life in the years ahead.

“I’m delighted to welcome the Cazoo team to The Jockey Club and horse racing as a sport,” he said.

This deal adds to Cazoo’s current sponsor portfolio, which includes Premier League teams Aston Villa and Everton, as well cricket’s The Hundred, the English Football League (EFL), and the Rugby League World Cup 2021.

The Cazoo Derby Festival will take place between the 4th – 5th of June 2021.
