Body Science International Partners With Rugby United New York

Body Science International has partnered with Rugby United New York (RUNY), in a deal that will see the Australian company become the official compression sportswear and supplement partner for the remainder of the 2019 Major League Rugby (MLR) season.

This partnership marks Body Science’s entrance to the U.S. market after successful partnerships and expansion throughout Australia and New Zealand over the past 20 years.

Body Science director and co-owner, Nathan Picklum, said the partnership is exciting and reflects the work they have done in Australia and New Zealand.

“The partnership with Rugby United New York means a lot to Body Science,” he said.

“We’ve dominated the elite sport market in the Southern Hemisphere, and we’re ready to make our mark in the U.S. market.

“I was in New York for the first-ever professional rugby game; it was a historical event that I will never forget.

“The passion for rugby is alive in that city,” Mr Picklum said.

Body Science began their partnership with elite sporting organisations in 2002, when they provided the Grand Final winning Sydney Roosters with post-match nutrition throughout the NRL season.

This led to partnerships with other sporting organisations throughout Australia and New Zealand, however, Body Science founder and co-owner, Greg Young, said the company’s products are a result of their previous partnerships.

“The science behind our products is what enables us to offer an edge,” he said.

“Our products are very much informed by the elite level feedback we receive from sporting associations and research mechanisms.

“In turn, this enables us to provide the best performance products for all users today,” Mr Young said.

The MLR launched in April 2018 as a brief exhibition season but has turned into a full competition schedule throughout 2019, being touted as the pinnacle of American Rugby.

RUNY joined the MLR as an associate member in 2018, becoming New York’s first professional rugby franchise.

RUNY director of rugby, James English, said this partnership is helping them manage the long MLR season.

“It is a long, gruelling Major League Rugby season,” he said.

“This means we have to be proactive in our recovery.

“Body Science is helping us do that.

“Whether it be compression gear for the long travel days or supplements for pre and post sessions, we are getting looked after by the best,” Mr English said.

In addition, Body Science will also become a RUNY jersey sponsor for the remainder of the 2019 MLR season, and their products will be made available for fans on the RUNY online store.
