Basketball Australia Announce SKINS As Official Compression Supplier

asketball Australia has announced a two-year partnership with SKINS, with the sports compression clothing company set to become the official compression supplier to Basketball Australia.

As part of the deal, SKINS will supply the Chemist Warehouse Australian Opals and the Australian Boomers with compression clothing for the next two years, including for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, the 2021 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup, 2021 FIBA Men’s Asia Cup, 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Sydney, and 2023 FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup.

Basketball Australia head of commercial partnerships, Glen Towers, said it is exciting to have SKINS on board for the next two years which are filled with high level competitions for the Opals and Boomers.

“We are excited to be partnering with SKINS, the pioneers of sports compression, as Basketball Australia’s official compression supplier,” Towers said.

“We look forward to working with the team at SKINS to fit out the Chemist Warehouse Opals and Boomers with market leading performance and recovery product during two exciting years for our senior national teams,” he said.

SKINS Australian commercial sales manager, Allan Sassoon, said: “SKINS is delighted to be partnering with Basketball Australia.”

“SKINS Compression has been weaved into the fabric of basketball globally for over a decade, and we are excited to be supplying Basketball Australia with the latest SKINS compression range, supporting our Australian basketball teams and assisting them in their quest for peak performance,” Sassoon said.

Elsewhere in the world of basketball, DECATHLON has been named an official licensee of the NBA in a multi-year merchandising agreement.

The partnership marks DECATHLON’s first with a North American sports league and will see the French sportswear brand feature a dedicated range of NBA team and league-branded base layers, accessories and footwear in select markets.

NBA EME director of global partnerships, Steve Griffiths, said: “We are excited to partner with DECATHLON, a leader in sporting goods retail with a global footprint.”

“Through this partnership, NBA fans and basketball players around the world will have access to an exciting and innovative range of merchandise to help them get in the game,” Griffiths said.
